Inputting Affiliate Links

Putting affiliate links on your web site or blog is easy, but it does take a little creativity. You have to do it the right way, or no one will bother clicking on your affiliate links.

Hiding Affiliate Links

You obviously don't want to literally "hide" affiliate links from your users, otherwise they wouldn't be able to click on them. However, you don't want them to be as obvious as possible.

The real trick is to input them into your content in such a way that they look like they're there for informational purposes only. If your users don't feel like you're just trying to sell them something, it will make them more willing to click on the links.

Hide the affiliate links in places where they are easy to find, yet not right up in the face of the visitors. Link to them multiple times throughout a page if possible, but don't go overboard. Make it seem like you're just linking to a site you genuinely recommend, and try not to make it too obvious that it's an affiliate link that could potentially make you some profit. People don't like ulterior motives.

Affiliate Links In Top Ten Lists

Top Ten lists are a good way to publish affiliate links. This technique is utilized all over the web. We use it on our web site!

The great thing about this technique is that it's something people are actually looking for, but more importantly you can put ten affiliate links on one page! It may start to get a little complicated when you have to monitor so many affiliate programs, but it's a good way to offer your users multiple programs/services/products without just having a bunch of affiliate links thrown at them. Make sure to write a little something about each of the items so that it's not just ten links/banners.

Affiliate Links As Banners

You might also consider using the banners of your affiliate programs throughout your web site. You don't want to overwhelm your users with advertisements, but if you're using advertising such as Google AdSense or something anyway, you might try out using your affiliate banners instead. The payout could prove to be quite a bit more.
